That
Sunday evening I did not waver, did not falter and I did
not give up for the life of that unborn baby conceived
as unfortunate as it was – by rape – and slated for
abortion and death.
The following is the
recollection I wrote down ‘of the matter of life and
death’ that took place on Sunday October 11, 2009 from
6:30 to 8;15 pm. During the 40 Days for Life in the
Fall of 2009. As I prayed [by myself] the Holy Rosary
and held my sign that said, “PRAY TO END ABORTION” in
front of Rocky River Health Center [Planned
Parenthood]”, says Sokol.
1. “I
was blessed to ‘reach into’ the darkness to help a local
father who did support his daughter … who was
considering an abortion. After the father and I
peacefully talked, he left me today knowing and telling
me
he was meant to talk to me
… about his daughter’s abortion … and that he now did
not support it. He was not in the darkness
anymore. Thanks Be to God.
2. On
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2009 FROM
6:30 PM to
8:15 PM
in front of Rocky River Health
Center [Planned Parenthood] … located at 20800 Center
Ridge Road that offers ...
“Abortion pill (medication abortion) … up to 9 weeks
after the start of your last menstrual period.”
3. I
was praying the Rosary and holding a sign so Center
Ridge Road traffic traveling east and west could see the
sign I held which said, “PRAY TO END ABORTION”.
4. A
man riding a bicycle passed behind me from my right-side
and stopped on my left-side. I halted my Rosary as the
man started talking to me.
5. I
turned to my left to face him. Certainly, he saw my
sign which said, “PRAY TO END ABORTION”.
6. He
asked me,
“My daughter was raped and
got pregnant. Should she abort her baby?”
7. He
also said to me,
“I am not here to argue
with you I just wanted to know what you think.”
8. I
was surprised this man would even ask me if his daughter
should kill her unborn baby. As I was praying and
standing in front of an abortion clinic … with a sign
that clearly stated, “PRAY TO END ABORTION”.

Yet I did
answer him.

I told him,
“What do you expect me to say, as
I am standing here with a sign that states, PRAY TO END
ABORTION. I am praying to end abortion in Rocky River
and in the United States. We are also now in a 40 Days
For Life Prayer Vigil that is going on around the clock
… not only in Rocky River but throughout the United
States. Of course I would tell you and your daughter
not to abort and kill her unborn baby.

For that
unborn baby is a Life. Two wrongs do not make a right.
Because she was raped … does not mean she can abort her
baby. We are talking about an innocent human life
here. Does that innocent unborn baby deserve to die
because of rape? No.”

Then I
mentioned to him,
“As
a father of a daughter planning to abort her child, you
need to guide her in doing the right thing and not to
abort her child.”
13.
He told me
that she does not listen to him. I told him that I have
two daughters and I understand what you are saying about
your daughter not listening to you. I also told him yet
you have to get through to her somehow not to kill her
baby.
14.
I told him,
right now she is going through an unsure time in her
pregnant life. She needs direction from those who can
help her. I told him that there is a Pregnancy Crisis
Center just east of us down about a block or two on
Center Ridge Road. That has women at that Center that
would help your daughter in anyway possible to get her
through her pregnancy … so she would not have to abort
her baby.
15.
I then told
him, if your daughter does not want to keep her baby
after the baby is born, she could put the baby up for
adoption. There are so many families wanting to adopt
children right now. I understand American Families are
adopting many Chinese babies right now.
16.
The man said
I was right. The other day he recalled that he heard of
someone he knew that adopted a Korean Baby.
17.
So that is
not a reason for your daughter to abort and kill her
unborn baby because she was raped and got pregnant.
18.
The man then
said I was right and that I had a lot of wisdom in my
words. He said he was prejudiced against certain people
and he was not thinking straight in wanting his daughter
to abort and to kill her baby because she was raped.
19.
I told him,
“Sometimes we are blocked from the Truth on how we
should look at people. We should ask God to lift what
is blocking us from seeing the Truth about others -
instead of looking at people in a bad light.”
20.
He again
agreed and reached out his hand to shake my hand. He
gave me his name and I gave him my name.
21.
He then said
to me as he was riding away on his bike,
“I
see now why I decided to take this route for my bike
ride, it was a way to help me … think things out.”
22.
As he left
me with my Rosary in my hand, I was so overjoyed for God
to use me a ‘mere puny human’. To speak to this person
who was in doubt. At this moment, I felt my heart was
going to burst with God’s Joy inside me.
23.
So not by my
words but through the Holy Spirit’s words [for humbly it
was not my words] … so the father could be reached. So
he can reach his daughter not to abort her unborn child
… I pray.”
