Fred Sokol's Take Back River 2006
Dear Rocky
River Residents,
"1. RECALL:
We will seek to recall any elected Rocky River
official if they compromise ‘our health, welfare or
safety’. Or don’t do their job."
(from “Fred
Sokol’s – Take Back River 2006” – January 28, 2006 –
by Fred I. Sokol)
‘Continue the Tradition’
is what our elected Rocky River officials want. What’s
that Tradition? Rocky River residents live under
‘strong mayor rule’ that controls our money, city
government and us. Rocky River city government is our
master - since 1960.
‘Take Back River’ your money and
power from city hall.
How?
-
RECALL:
We will seek to recall any elected Rocky River
official if they compromise ‘our health, welfare or
safety’. Or don’t do their job.
-
INDEPENDENT AUDIT:
(sponsored by citizens) from 1990 to 2005
of our city official’s spending and hiring practices
(1.) in Rocky River City Government (2.) and Rocky
River Waste Water Treatment Plant. We
will make them account for every penny of the
taxpayer’s actual money - they spent. If officials
messed up – we will recall them!
-
CITIZEN CANDIDATES:
will be fielded by us for elected office in the
November 2007 Rocky River municipal election. Once
elected they will carry out what residents want –
not what special interests want.
-
OHIO CONSTITUTIONAL
AMENDMENT:
We will support an Ohio
Constitutional Amendment that
is on the November 2006 Ballot. Once
passed - it limits State and Local Government
Spending, Taxation and Surplus. (It
will also limit Rocky River City Government
Spending, Taxation and Surplus.)
-
ROCKY RIVER CHARTER:
We will seek to change the ‘Rocky River Charter’ to
bring tax cuts, citizen control and protection of
resident’s property to residents. See ‘Contract
with Residents’ below.
-
CONTRACT WITH
RESIDENTS:
will again be a ‘central theme’ in Rocky River’s
2007 election.
We
will lobby residents and Rocky River elected
officials on each point of my ‘Contract with
Residents’ that benefits citizens. Click on below
and see proposals.

What’s it going to be my fellow
resident - Continue the Tradition or Take Back River?
