I am gathering support of fellow Rocky River residents to form a ‘new political action committee’ named … “CITIZENS AGAINST PORK (CAP)” that will shepherd the ‘Rocky River Charter Addition’ to ‘Limit Rocky River City Government Spending, Taxes and Surplus’ to the Rocky River Ballot Tuesday November 4, 2008.
· Said Committee’s Name and Acronym defines (1.) why it was formed (2.) what its mission and its final goal, is. (3.) Lastly Said Committee, Its Name, and Its Mission will dominate Rocky River’s ‘Political Issues’ in the Fall Rocky River Election 2007. Why are we doing this?
‘Economic Incentives’ are needed in our ‘Economic Challenging Times’ to encourage Residents and Businesses to Come to and Stay in Rocky River – and is our only chance for Rocky River’s survival. You Decide!
1. Homes are in Foreclosure, Houses Up For Sale, Homes Vacant and Residents are Moving out and leaving empty homes. Our city is in trouble – and all Rocky River City Government wants to do is wastefully spend, spend and spend (See Totals of Rocky River City Government’s Proposed Budget Spending From 1990 through 2007.)
2. To make our community survive … people need a reason to come to and stay in Rocky River. Not just stay long enough to have their children graduate from Rocky River High School or stay long enough until they retire and then leave Rocky River.
3. Our ‘present incentives’ … of city schools, city services and recreation programs (in all due respect), “IS NOT ENOUGH AND DOES NOT HELP US PAY TO PUT FOOD ON OUR TABLE, DOES NOT HELP US PAY FOR OUR TAXES, DOES NOT HELP US PAY FOR OUR MEDICAL BILLS, AND IT DOES NOT HELP US PAY TO KEEP OUR HOMES … and it is not stopping people from leaving our city.
What are my ‘economic incentives to attract and keep residents and businesses in Rocky River?
1. As a candidate for Mayor of Rocky River I propose ‘New Economic Incentives’ to counter the ‘Economic Challenges’ of both young and senior citizens alike. My economic proposals are: (1.) Lowering Rocky River Property Taxes, (2.) Tax Refund Checks on money not spent, annually and (3.) a Rocky River city government that is not so willing and able to spend our tax money, so the taxpayers can keep their money to spend on themselves and on their family’s.
2. When my ‘Economic Incentive Proposals’ are implemented in Rocky River the present pattern of residents leaving Rocky River will be turned around and people will want to move to and stay in Rocky River.
3. “Limiting our City Government Spending, Taxes, Surplus, and Refunding Surplus Money back to Taxpayers’ annually while Lowering Rocky River Property Tax for Rocky River Property Owners” has already caught the attention of our Younger Residents and our Seniors’ in Rocky River – they realize these proposals are a way to help them pay to ‘put food on their table, help them to pay their taxes, help them to pay their medical bills and help them to keep their homes.
4. Limiting City Government Finances and a Refund Check at the end of every year, while lowering Rocky River Property Tax … is definitely a popular ‘pocketbook issue’ for our residents. I know, I have already heard and witnessed their enthusiastic response over my proposals.
How will I implement my economic incentives?
1. A ‘Rocky River charter addition’ championed by ‘Citizens Against Pork’ (Cap) when passed will help direct and carry out what I want to accomplish as Mayor of Rocky River … to bring ‘new economic benefits’ to Rocky River residents and businesses, while putting a cap on City Government Spending, Taxes and Surplus … and this said effort is already in motion and is planned for the Tuesday November 4th, 2008 Rocky River Municipal Election.
2. Finally my Mayoral Campaign will focus on the issue of ‘Limiting Rocky River City Government Spending, Taxes and Surplus and a Refund Check going back to taxpayers, while lowering Rocky River Property Tax’.
3. Any opponent(s) that will compete with me for the office of Mayor of Rocky River in 2007 will be asked by me at all Rocky River Mayoral Debates what their stand is on “Limiting Rocky River City Government Spending, Taxes and Surplus and a Refund Check going back to taxpayers’ on money not spent, while lowering Rocky River Property Tax.”
4. As Mayor I will also implement my ‘Contract with Residents’ to ‘bring about’ ‘further economic incentives’ that once put into motion will benefit residents and businesses in a way they have never been ‘economically benefited’ before as well.
In Closing
1. Tuesday November 6, 2007 you will be deciding a Mayor of Rocky River that will lead our city for the next two (2) years. That Mayor’s decisions will decide what type of Rocky River you and your family will live in. To decide which Mayor you may want … all you need to do is hear what my opponent(s) for the office of Mayor of Rocky River say to either supporting or not supporting ‘Limiting Rocky River City Government Spending, Taxes and Surplus and a Refund Check going back to taxpayers, while lowering Rocky River Property Taxes’.
2. Once you have, in my heart then, I truly feel you will make the right choice in November 2007.
3. Ladies and Gentlemen, it is now time to choose ‘Our’ Rocky River Future.
Finally, who do you think ‘best understands the future’ that Rocky River residents and businesses want - and who do you think ‘best knows how to achieve’ that future?
