ROCKY RIVER – Fred Sokol announces Rocky River city hall ‘pork barrel’ public hearing on the 2008 spending budget of $65,735,223.00 20.  That’s on Monday December 10th at 8:00 P.M. at Rocky River council chambers.

“Then on Monday December 17th Rocky River council will pass this bulging budget,” says Sokol.  “They're coming for your money People!”

“There is a reason City departments are about to start gorging at the taxpayers’ money trough,” says Sokol.  “The special interests want more for themselves… someone is calling the shots here … and it’s not the taxpayers.”

For example:

  • General Government is at the trough for $7,818, 000.00 in 2008.

  • Recreation Center is at the trough for $3,757,997.00 in 2008.

“City officials will pass this ‘bulging budget’ just eight (8) days before Christmas,” says Sokol.  “As modest everyday taxpayers have no choice in this ‘rigged’ matter and that is what city officials are counting on.”
