CELL PHONE RULES - FOR DRIVERS IN
ROCKY RIVER?
To: Rocky River
City School District, Rocky River City
Government, Rocky River Business Community and
Fellow Residents,
‘Rocky River
Mobile Phone Rules’ will be discussed by Rocky River city government
officials – on Monday - November 6th, 2006 @ 6 PM, @ Rocky River City Hall/Rocky
River Council Chambers.
Will the Rocky
River city council ‘pass these rules’ during the 2006 holidays?
Is, Bigger Rocky
River city government - and Lesser Rocky River Resident Freedom 'coming again'
to Rocky River?
For
- Rocky River Mobile Phone Rules!
Against
- Rocky River Mobile Phone Rules!
-
I am not enjoying the
‘comfort zone’ that perhaps Rocky River city government has. On again,
their potential ‘pinning down’ Rocky River residents freedom on yet another
potential ‘traffic violation offense’. If implemented, could be a
‘cash cow’ for Rocky River Municipal Court. While Rocky River citizens’
lives are again, imposed on by Rocky River city government.
Why Am I
Uncomfortable About, Rocky River Mobile Phone Rules?
You
Decide!
-
First, I
stand for Less Taxes, Less City Government, and More Freedom! I stay
true to 'my core belief'.
-
C’mon now! Are there
a lot of reckless drivers and speed demons in Rocky River? Center
Ridge, Detroit and parts of Lake Road and our side streets are mostly 25
miles per hour. Hilliard, Wooster and other parts of Lake Road are 35 miles
per hour. Where in Rocky River is there a potential for reckless driving
and speed demons?
-
Also, Rocky River’s
traffic lights slow drivers to a crawl that try to travel through the entire
city. I lived on the west side of Cleveland from 1962 through 1990 -
and in Rocky River since 1991 for a total of 44 plus years of my life. I
have always referred to Rocky River as the ‘city of lights’ – traffic
lights that is.
As
a Rocky River citizen,
I want
the following ‘QUESTIONS’ answered
‘YES’
by Rocky River city government on ‘Rocky River Mobile Phone Rules’.
Before, they may even consider pushing for possibly ‘criminalizing cell phone
use’ by the drivers of motor vehicles in Rocky River.
-
Have (1) Federal, (2)
State and (3) County Government Agencies completed any ‘community
assessments’ in Rocky River? To determine the amount of accidents, that
drivers of motor vehicles have caused – while using cell phones in Rocky
River?
-
If these (1) Federal,
(2) State and (3) County government agencies did those studies. What
are their stated findings in the amount of accidents caused by drivers using
cell phones while driving in Rocky River? If so, what is their ‘raw data’
on how they reached their conclusions?
-
Again, if these (1)
Federal, (2) State and (3) County Government Agencies had studies done.
Is there any written correspondence for example, by e-mail of a Federal
Agency contacting a State of Ohio Agency to concur on their findings? If
so, then did these agencies concur there must be something done to alleviate
the stated ‘traffic problem’ in Rocky River? If so, I want to see a copy of
the e-mail transmission(s).
-
Finally, if these (1)
Federal, (2) State and (3) County Government Agencies had this said traffic
information. Did the (1) Federal, (2) State and (3) County Government
Agencies contact and share with Rocky River city government the information
that was accumulated by these said government agencies, if indeed they did
have this information? If so, I want to see a copy of these said
communication(s).
In
Conclusion to ‘Rocky River Mobile Phone Rules’
-
If there are results
from (1) Federal, (2) State and (3) County Agency analysis suggesting an
alarming rate of traffic accidents in Rocky River? By those who use
‘cell phones’ while driving motor vehicles in Rocky River.
PASS A LAW
RESTRICTING CELL
PHONE USE BY DRIVERS OF MOTOR VEHICLES THAT DRIVE THROUGH ROCKY RIVER.
-
Yet,
if there are not
results
from (1) Federal, (2) State and (3) County Agency analysis suggesting an
alarming rate of traffic accidents in Rocky River? By those who use
‘cell phones’ while driving motor vehicles in Rocky River.
DO NOT PASS A LAW
RESTRICTING CELL
PHONE USE BY DRIVERS OF MOTOR VEHICLES THAT DRIVE THROUGH ROCKY RIVER.
‘Less Rocky River city government’ and ‘More Freedom for Rocky River Residents’
is what I really want. Why not?
