Rocky River Conservative 2007

To: Rocky River City School District, Rocky River City Government, Rocky River Business Community and Fellow Residents,

I call conservative candidates who support ‘Less Taxes, Less City Government and More Freedom’ - to run with me' as a slate of candidates' in Rocky River’s November/2007 municipal election.

Where?

·         In each of Rocky River's four (4) wards, three (3) council-at-large seats and for Rocky River mayor!

Why?

  • (1) To push a ‘conservative agenda’ to better Rocky River residents (2) and to break the 'political and economic stranglehold' that 'Strong Mayor Rocky River City Government and it's agenda' has on Rocky River.  All of this is explained in my letter below.

  • What makes me so hopeful for success in this matter?

  • The ‘current mood of voters’ nationwide shows a pattern that may ring true in Rocky River's Municipal Election in 2007.  Where if Rocky River voters are given a choice between liberal and conservative city officials.  The voters may very well 'vote out' ‘liberal city officials’ from Rocky River city government and replace them with  ‘conservative city officials’.  How do I come to this conclusion?

  • ‘Conservative Candidates’ were the ‘biggest winners’ in this year’s National Mid-Term Election.

  • While ‘Liberal Candidates’ were the ‘biggest losers’ in this year’s National Mid-Term Election.

  • With, More Taxes, More City Government and Less Freedom in Rocky River, isn't it time for city officials to go?   Isn't it time to 'sweep out' city hall?  You decide.

ROCKY RIVER LIBERALS BRING MORE TAXES?

·         In 2007 ‘conservative candidates’ will challenge ‘liberal city officials’ to account for their ‘unbridled spending’ that is listed below.   All this spending is paid for with taxpayers' money.

·          (1) The proposed liberal ‘spending budgets’ for Rocky River city government totaled more than $245 million of Rocky River taxpayer’s money in just the last five (5) years.  (2.) Though residents called for ‘economic restraint’, liberal city officials ignored residents.   Rocky River is only four (4) square miles with approximately 22,000 residents!  Why so much money being spent?  DURING THE CAMPAIGN, I WILL TELL YOU WHO ON COUNCIL VOTED FOR THESE LIBERAL SPENDING BUDGETS – AND I WILL DEMAND AN ANSWER FROM LIBERAL CITY OFFICIALS - ABOUT WHO GOT WHAT OF OUR TAX MONEY!

·         Now, an example of a liberal spending moment by Rocky River city council of our tax money.  It took place on Monday, December 27, 2004 - while Rocky River taxpayers were celebrating the holidays.  Rocky River council approved city ordinance no. 175-04 to lease a ‘parking garage’ near Beachcliff Market Square for 15 years - for $980,000.00 of our tax money!  I was there at council that night.  I told them not to do it.  They did it anyway.  DURING MY CAMPAIGN, I WILL TELL YOU WHO ON COUNCIL VOTED FOR THIS LIBERAL ‘BIG TICKET ITEM’ OF COURSE PAID BY OUR TAX MONEY!

ROCKY RIVER LIBERALS BRINGS MORE CITY GOVERNMENT?

·         In 2007 ‘conservative candidates’ will demand ‘liberal city officials’ to account for their ‘ballooning of city government’ that is listed below - and who benefited from it?

·          An approximate ‘.6 billion dollars’ or ($610,263,582.99) has showed in the City of Rocky River’s ‘proposed spending budgets’ from 1990 through 2006.  To spend taxpayer money like that, Rocky River city government is huge!

·          Have you ever visited Rocky River city government's campus on Wagar and Hilliard Boulevard?  The city campus has many buildings and it is almost a city within itself.  Who do you think paid for those buildings?  Taxpayers of course.  How ‘many employees' are working in these buildings?  WE ARE ONLY A CITY OF FOUR (4) SQUARE MILES AND WITH A POPULATION OF APPROXIMATELY 22,000 RESIDENTS.  IS THIS SIZE OF CITY GOVERNMENT NECESSARY FOR ROCKY RIVER?   I WILL DEMAND AN ANSWER FROM LIBERAL CITY OFFICIALS - ABOUT WHO WORKS FOR ROCKY RIVER CITY GOVERNMENT - AND IF ROCKY RIVER CITY OFFICIALS BOTH ELECTED AND APPOINTED HAD OR DO NOW HAVE ANY OF THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS WORKING FOR ROCKY RIVER CITY GOVERNMENT?

·         Now, for me to even gauge the size and involvement of Rocky River city government.  I requested 'financial records' from Rocky River city government.  I asked city officials to provide me 17 years of financial information.  So taxpayers and I can know where our tax money went and get a better idea on how Rocky River city government operates.   All I got from a Rocky River city government official on Monday, September 11, 2006 was a 'partial response' to my request as he was reported as saying, “… the City's record retention is in keeping with the state requirement of 3-5 years.” (excerpt taken from certified Rocky River council minutes 9-11-2006) Yet city officials were kind enough to offer to me an opportunity to go into city hall's basement to look through boxes of past city financial records.  Yet that's not acceptable.  Once 'conservative candidates' are elected, the 17 years of Rocky River city government financial information I requested will be placed on the city website.

·         Yet I was able to get some city finance information.  It showed Rocky River city government's  ‘proposed budget’ total - rose 145% from $22,290,058 in 1990 to $54,706,230 in 2006.

·         Yet Rocky River city government doesn't just spend money.  It has created a city government bureaucracy  that may bring us an even bigger Rocky River city government bureaucracy in the future.  Will we see more Regionalism, Regional Sharing of Tax Revenue (Share The Wealth), Regional Schools, Regional Community Based Correctional Facility, a Regional Cleveland Megalopolis, Rocky River without borders, a Rocky River Re-Development Plan that will urbanize our suburban community?  It may depend on what type of Rocky River candidate that voters elect in the future - to represent them.

ROCKY RIVER LIBERALS BRING LESS FREEDOM?

·         In 2007, ‘conservative candidates’ will challenge ‘liberal city officials’ to account for their ‘Strong Mayor City Government' control and attempts of control on citizen’s lives - as listed below.

·         Rocky River City Government: (1.) Proposes and Passes laws to control you.  (2.) Enforces the laws to control you. (3.) Decides how your tax money is spent.  Land of the Free?  You decide!

·         In 1998 I helped STOP Rocky River City Hall’s attempt to pass a ‘Criminal Trespass Law’ for almost anyone walking on a Rocky River ‘Private’ or a ‘Public Lawn’ (like a city park) without permission.

·         In 2002 I helped STOP Rocky River city hall’s attempt to restrict Rocky River citizens from speaking at City Council Meetings.

·        PRESENTLY: Rocky River council is seeking further information on 'Rocky River Cell Phone Rules'.  Could council at a later date, pass a law that possibly allows a ticket and court cost charges to motorists who are caught using a ‘hand held cell phone’ while driving in Rocky River?  Even if you are driving safely?  We shall see!

‘CONSERVATISM’ WILL SET ROCKY RIVER RESIDENTS FREE!  HOW?

ROCKY RIVER CONSERVATIVES BRING LESS TAXES:

  • Once Rocky River Conservatives are elected. They will put the brakes on Rocky River city government spending, surplus and taxes and size.  Taxpayers will win.  Why?

  • Rocky River Conservatives will limit Rocky River City Government ‘spending, surplus and taxes’.  So city government will spend less, and taxpayers keep more.  Residents will be free to spend their money for themselves and for their family.  Not to Rocky River city government.  No devil in the details here!  You decide!

  • To make that dream a reality.  Rocky River Conservatives are about to circulate ‘a petition’ amongst Rocky River Voters - to Limit Rocky River city government spending, surplus and taxes.  Then place this ‘said charter proposal' on the Rocky River ballot to be approved by voters.  See Proposal: Limit River Government Spending, Surplus, Taxes.

ROCKY RIVER CONSERVATIVES BRING LESS CITY GOVERNMENT:

  • In another step to shrink Rocky River city government.  When Rocky River conservatives are elected.  They will cut Rocky River city council to five (5) council members with five (5) wards instead of the now, four (4) wards in Rocky River.  Then eliminate the present three (3) council-at-large seats in their entirety.

  • What motivates Rocky River Conservatives to limit Rocky River city government?  We agree with what (Former) President Ronald Reagan said, "... man is not free unless government is limited."   (From – Former U.S. President Ronald Reagan's Farewell Address to the Nation - Oval Office - January 11, 1989)  Again, no devil in the details here.  You decide!

ROCKY RIVER CONSERVATIVES BRING MORE FREEDOM:

  • I am honored to know a Rocky River Conservative.  His American Heroes are named, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan.   I am proud to say they are my American Heroes as well.

  • That's why, Rocky River Conservatives will stand by residents.  Why?  Rocky River Conservatives recognize the fact “that all men are created equal” and that Rocky River city government is controlled by “We The People”.  They also know Rocky River city government is “Of, By and For The People."

  • Rocky River Conservative’s also believe, "As our 'Founding Fathers' sought Liberty and Justice for every individual American.  That as citizens of Rocky River we will seek Liberty and Justice for every individual Rocky River Citizen."  That is why 'Rocky River Conservatives' will ‘stand tall’ to protect and ensure 'the rights' every Rocky River citizen is guaranteed in America!

  • Rocky River Conservatives further believe that those in 'public service' who 'violate the rights' of fellow residents do not belong in and should resign from public service!  See my ‘Rocky River charter proposal’ that once passed will remind and protect Rocky River residents of their rights as American Citizens and Rocky River Citizens.   See Proposal: Rocky River Citizen Bill of Rights.

  • It is time we put our 'American Values' back on the front burner - in Rocky River for all residents!
