PUT ROCKY RIVER CITY GOVERNMENT ‘FINANCIAL INFORMATION’ ON CITY WEBSITE!

To: Rocky River City School District, Rocky River City Government, Rocky River Business Community and Fellow Residents,

Put ‘all’ Rocky River City Government ‘financial activity information’ in citizen readable form - on the city’s website.  Why?

1.    So Rocky River taxpayers can easily see how their present and past ‘elected and appointed’ Rocky River city government officials spent the taxpayers’ money!

2.    Just from 1990 through 2006 alone, ‘.6 billion dollars’ or ($610,263,582.99) has showed in the city of Rocky River’s ‘proposed spending budgets’ from 1990 through 2006.   Who got what (Click on and see ‘the certified totals’ of Rocky River city government’s proposed budgets from 1990 through 2006)

3.    Previously I requested from Rocky River city government their 'financial records' in the form of "citizen readable financial records".  For the last 16 years back to 1990.  (see letter)

4.  Yet all I got from a Rocky River city government official on Monday, September 11, 2006 was a 'partial response' to my request as he was reported as saying, “… the City's record retention is in keeping with the state requirement of 3-5 years.”  (excerpt taken from certified Rocky River council minutes 9-11-2006)

5.    Apparently the city has just 3 to 5 years of ‘city financial information’ at their fingertips.  It also appears, the city may have the remainder of the years of ‘city government financial information’ I requested - available in boxes in the basement of Rocky River city hall.

6.    Granted, the city is willing to allow me to arrange a time with them.   So I can examine the ‘city financial records’ in city hall’s basement.  I appreciate their offer, yet it is unacceptable

I propose an easier way for Rocky River city government – to show me and fellow Rocky River residents – how taxpayers’ money was spent – both presently and in the past.  How

1.    I propose that Rocky River city hall simply put ‘all’ Rocky River city government financial records (on the city’s website).  This includes the past Rocky River city government ‘financial records’ that are possibly in boxes in Rocky River city hall’s basement.

2.    Additionally, have a separate list on the city’s website - of every person’s name who received money from Rocky River city government – from 1990 through 2006 and earlier – and in ‘citizen readable’ form.

3.    Additionally, have a separate list on the city’s website - of how much money each person received from Rocky River city government – from 1990 through 2006 and earlier – and in ‘citizen readable’ form.

We put men on the moon.  We can put Rocky River City Government ‘financial information’ on the city’s website.

If not, I will when I am elected.
