ROCKY RIVER – Rocky River mayoral candidate, Fred Sokol, will be participating in the League of Women Voters forum on October 29th, which is eight days before the election.

 

Of the event, Sokol says, “I’m going to do what I’ve been doing for many, many years: “Straight Talk” about a real – not hidden – agenda of working to get rid of abortion in Rocky River, lowering property taxes, increased police protection, cut spending, and more.”

 

Sokol has been an advocate of life since Planned Parenthood moved into their office on Center Ridge in Rocky River where now on their website it is reported: “Abortion Services – Medical” is posted.  See Hyperlink:

He has been aggressively trying to regulate the clinic or any abortion facility in such a way that they would move out of Rocky River or discourage them from moving in.

 

Sokol, running as a ‘no-party’ candidate, ran in 2005 as well as a ‘no-party’ candidate, but lost to then-Mayor William F. Knoble.   Sokol also ran in 2003 as a ‘no-party’ candidate for Rocky River Council-At-Large’ yet did not win.  He also brought three (3) Rocky River city wide votes on Rocky River charter amendments to the ballot as well.

 

The other two (2) candidates for Mayor are (no-party) Frank Gollinger and former Council President, now council-elected Mayor, Republican Pamela Bobst.  Sokol says, “As Mayor I’ll have city laws passed that will ‘shut the door’ to Abortion in Rocky River.  My opponents voted to limit but not totally stop Abortion in Rocky River.  WHY?”

 

The venue for the forum is the Don Umerley Civic Center near City Hall and begins at 7:00 p.m. and ends at approximately 9:30 p.m.

 

The League of Women Voters holds these forums for the purpose of introducing the public to the candidates and allowing the public to hear what the candidates 'stand for' so it will help voters decide which candidate they would like to represent them on election day.

Hello Fellow Residents,

 

I am Fred Sokol and I am running for Mayor of Rocky River.

 

“AS MAYOR, I’LL DO WHAT YOU WANT!”  Rocky River is your city, I will be your ‘public servant’ at city hall and we will be safer and number one again!  Let me tell you how.

 

AS MAYOR, I’LL “CUT PROPERTY TAX” to attract and keep residents and businesses in Rocky River.   Residents and Businesses have left for greener pastures.  As Mayor, Rocky River will successfully compete to get its community back.

AS MAYOR, I’LL ALSO BRING “POLICE FOOT AND BICYCLE PATROLS INTO ROCKY RIVER’S NEIGHBORHOODS” As Mayor I will bring a stronger police presence in Rocky River’s Neighborhoods 24/7.   ‘Feet on the street and officers on bike patrol’ will keep police presence longer in a neighborhood for police officers to better spot and stop potential crime from happening or stop crime already being committed upon residents.  Just locking your doors in Rocky River will not stop crime.

 

FINALLY, AN AREA NEWSPAPER RECENTLY CALLED ME A ‘COMMUNITY ACTIVIST’. As Mayor I will also ‘activate the community’ and while working together with you and others we will be safer and number one again!  Thank You!
