SOKOL: VIRGINIA TECH – MY THOUGHTS, HOPES AND PRAYERS!
To: Rocky River
City School District, Rocky River City
Government, Rocky River Business Community and
Fellow Residents,
THE VIRGINIA TECH TRAGEDY!
-
On Monday, April 16, 2007, Virginia Tech was a scene of a heart breaking, senseless and horrific shooting rampage.
HUMAN VIOLENCE AND EVIL TESTS OUR HOPE IN HUMANITY.
YES THERE IS HOPE FOR THE FUTURE!
-
Though, mankind’s history and makeup is enmeshed in violence and hopelessness. Human bravery, peace and goodness are also a part of ‘the human story and face’, and that Ladies and Gentlemen is where hope lies for us, for our children and for our children’s children.
HOW DO WE DEAL WITH VIOLENCE AND EVIL?
-
Second, stand up to it, speak up to it, meet it, and then oppose it.
MY PRAYER!
-
I pray for all who are brave and good. Who recognize evil and violence and are willing to stand up and to speak up, to meet it and then to oppose it. Not just for themselves, but for others as well. Protect them God. They are truly your servants.
-
I also pray for all the victims of violence, especially the victims of violence from Virginia Tech. They are surely safe in God’s Hands right now! Also grant peace, strength and healing to all who were injured on that day, and to all the families affected by the Virginia Tech shootings.
-
Finally, may we as an American People come closer as a nation, in order to help, and not to hurt one another! For surely we are all sister and brother! Amen!
IN CLOSING!
