ROCKY RIVER OWNED WATERLINE 'WORTH/COST' QUESTION?

To: Rocky River City School District, Rocky River City Government, Rocky River Business Community and Fellow Residents,

In Re: FRED SOKOL TO MR. ANDREW BEMER – ‘ROCKY RIVER OWNED WATERLINE WORTH/COST’ QUESTION?

MR. ANDREW BEMER – DIRECTOR OF LAW

In regards to Monday February 5, 2007; Cleveland Water Commissioner J. Christopher Nielson made a presentation to Rocky River council regarding the ‘Proposed Regional Water Service and Economic Development Agreements.’

As reported, “… would transfer ownership of all water mains over to the Cleveland Water Department.  Rocky River currently owns only distribution mains that are 20 inches or shorter in diameter.”  (WestLife February 7, 2007 “Regional agreements discussed with city of Cleveland”)

THERE’S MONEY IN THOSE WATERLINES!

  • This leads me to the question.  How much are the ‘Rocky River Owned Waterlines’ monetarily worth?  Considering Rocky River taxpayers have paid to have these said waterlines - laid, connected, maintained, repaired and replaced.  Furthermore, how much money is still owed on these said waterlines?  ‘The Rocky River Owned Waterlines’ are a very valuable ‘city asset’.

IT’S TIME FOR CLEVELAND TO PAY ROCKY RIVER!

  • If the City of Cleveland wants the ownership of Rocky River’s portion of the waterlines in Rocky River,  the City of Cleveland should pay ‘full price’ for what the ‘Rocky River Owned Waterlines’ are monetarily worth.  Yet first the voters of Rocky River must approve this said action!

  • That Mr. Bemer, is why my request for public information to Rocky River city government - is as follows.  To find out how much are the ‘Rocky River Owned Waterlines’ worth so Rocky River can sell them to Cleveland for what the waterlines are worth and possibly for more!

(1.) Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 149.43 (B), I respectfully request all ‘public record’ maintained by the Municipal Corporation of the City of Rocky River, of the County of Cuyahoga, and of the State of Ohio that shows, (2.) How much are all ‘Rocky River Owned Waterlines’ worth (3.) and How much are all ‘Rocky River Owned Waterlines’ cost (4.) and still owed on (5.) which includes but not limited to the preparing, laying, connecting, previous maintenance, repair and replacement (6.) of all ‘Rocky River Owned Waterlines’ that would be included in any and all ‘ownership transfer’, of said Possible Proposed Rocky River/Cleveland Agreement(s) would be agreed upon (7.) that requires The City of Rocky River, Ohio owned waterlines be transferred to The City of Cleveland, Ohio?
