WHY SHOULD ROCKY RIVER RESIDENTS SPEAK UP

ON CITY CONCERNS ? 

 

1.    Rocky River officials sadly look to the Chamber of Commerce to stay competitive. Rivers’ city officials don’t have answers and need residents’ help.

 

2.     Nearly 93% of Rocky River students plan additional education.  42% of River’s working residents are in professional or managerial positions.  We can help.

3.     Rocky River’s 20,735 residents will form a Citizen Council to stop our community’s disintegration.

4.    We need 'further opportunities' for Rocky River Residents to speak out freely and unafraid for a better Rocky River.

     "A 'New' Rocky River Citizen Forum will generate new community ideas among residents both young and old.

         

     Our Citizen's Forum will allow residents to share their ideas to better Rocky River, with fellow residents who think like them.

        

     Finally, a Citizen's Forum will create new citizen involvement and leadership.  Residents will be compelled to get involved in the political process to advance those new ideas."

Future Leaders!

" We must prepare our young adults as Rocky River’s next generation of leaders and protectors of our American liberty!

        Teach and dedicate them to the principles of our Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence.

     Show them how these American documents state and protect valued civil rights even at city council meetings.

     Councils’ understanding of the Constitution allows citizens to speak freely. This is the most important of our civil rights.

     Ensure Rocky River’s future leaders to know and protect our American civil liberties.

     Let them see the importance of a city government that is of, by and for the people . . . not by any special interest.

     I encourage Rocky River’s government, school personnel and parents invite our young citizens to council meetings. They can see people be a "living part" of our city government.

     Prepare our young adults today, tomorrow they lead and protect our American civil rights. They are our last, best hope."

Dear Fellow Rocky River Residents,

    Rocky River’s 20,735 residents will form a Citizen Council to stop our community’s disintegration.

    Rocky River officials sadly look to the Chamber of Commerce to stay competitive. Rivers’ city officials don’t have answers and need residents’ help.

    Nearly 93% of Rocky River students plan additional education.  42% of River’s working residents are in professional or managerial positions.  We can help.

    Yet should smart Rocky River residents just go their own way to vacation, wash/wax their cars and boats, mow their lawns, watch T.V. in their free time?

    Are we too comfortable to ignore our city’s decline and not create laws that can benefit us?

    We can write and pass laws to raise our standard of safety, restrain city spending, cut taxes, preserve our neighborhoods.

  Residents will join a city wide citizen council to write and pass these laws to preserve and stop River’s disintegration.

"Rocky River City Government is a combination of a Republic and a Democracy Do not let anyone mislead you on that fact! 

 

We are a 'self-government'  where city government officials or citizens can decide city matters.

Rocky River citizens established this type of government when they passed a 'city charter' 43 years ago to govern all citizens.      

Citizens recorded tasks in the city charter for city government officials to perform ... to benefit residents.

Rocky River citizens do not give up any powers.  We only delegate powers to our city government officials. 

Yes, Rocky River citizens are the masters of their city and do not yield 'their power' to any city official or agency."

Dear Fellow Rocky River Residents,

    Rocky River citizens need to share ideas with city government to preserve and better our city.  Non threatening forums can help residents offer ideas our city government can act on.  

     Where once was intimidation, division and fear.  Citizens will have encouragement, teamwork and openness.  Forums are possible and new ideas vital for the betterment of Rocky River and residents. 

      When we give our new ideas, Rocky River becomes our future.
