A Message
For
You .......
" I
created my
"Rocky River - About Fred I. Sokol Page" to inform you
about myself and to dispel
any misleading statements given about me. I will tell you of the many
communities, their citizens and elected officials I have worked with and
helped. I will tell you of the (charitable) Non-Profit Corporation I
founded that was even commended by vote of Lakewood City Council. I
will tell you of my accomplishments just in Rocky River alone. I am honored to serve my fellow residents in Rocky River
and will continue to do so.
I respectfully dedicate this
page to all the good people of Rocky River and I look forward to continue serving you
in the future.

Give me your tired your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,

‘My
Past Experiences and Victories’ For
Rocky River Citizens
As
a
Citizen Servant
I
have attended council meetings since 1993. I watched and
know City Hall.
I helped ‘fellow
citizens’ STOP Rocky River City Hall’s attempts at
passing some very unpopular issues like ….
1993
- I helped STOP Rocky
River City Hall’s attempt to build a "regional minimum
security jail” in a Rocky River residential/business
district.
1995
- I helped STOP Rocky
River City Hall’s attempt to re-zone for 'several
townhouses' to be built at Beach Cliff Boulevard &
Frazier Drive.
1995
- I helped STOP Rocky River City Hall’s attempt to
privatize Rocky River's city service department which
includes garbage pick-up and street plowing etc.
1996
- I helped STOP Rocky River City Hall’s attempt to
re-zone for commercial development next to a residential
area at South Falmouth Drive and Lake Road.
1998
- I helped STOP Rocky River City Hall’s attempt to pass
a ‘Criminal Trespass Law’ for almost anyone walking on a
Rocky River Private or a ‘Public Lawn’ (like a city
park) without permission. Sadly, it’s a fact.
2002
- I helped STOP Rocky River City Hall’s attempt to
restrict Rocky River citizens from speaking at City
Council meetings.

What
Fred
I. Sokol
Says About:
______________
'Important Issues'
To
Rocky River Residents
______________
Failed
Rocky River Economy
Eliminate
City Income Tax
"Rocky River
Citizens' "median household income" fell from $53,485 in 1990 to
$51,636 in 2000, as U.S. Census 2000 reports.
‘Tax and Spend’ Rocky River City Government showed in their
1990 to 2002 "estimated resources" a total of $521,896,316.07 and
their "estimated proposed budgets" showed a total of
$414,018,168.60.
Rocky River City
Government has millions of dollars in their coffers and can afford
to eliminate Rocky River city income tax to increase citizen and
business incomes and
ability to spend."
______________
Rocky River’s
Health and Safety
Compromised
-
Fix Conditions
"Rocky River Citizens endured
2002’s West Nile Virus attack, two citizen cases reported.
I support a “West Nile Virus Task Force” to prepare
for future
onslaughts.
Rocky River Citizens are
always at risk for their safety. Crime never sleeps. I support
increased street lighting, fluorescent home numbers on curbs.
Two-man car patrols in high volume crime areas and times. I
will make ‘Amber Alert’ a #1 priority for our children."
______________
Citizen’s Rights Abused
"A ny
city ordinance that abuses our citizen rights in Rocky River
needs to be
reviewed and repealed."
______________
Open/Responsive City Government Rocky River Town Hall Meetings
"Rocky River City Hall is the “only voice” on how our taxes are
spent, how our streets are policed and how our neighborhoods
are redeveloped.
I want River citizens
to have a voice.
I propose that citizens and
city officials discuss/decide
‘city matters’ at (2) Town Hall meetings in each of Rocky River’s
(4) wards annually."
______________
Westgate Shopping Center
"I support that any decision made on the
fate of Westgate Shopping Center is made by the citizens of
Rocky River and Fairview Park, not officials."
______________
City Infrastructure Repair of
Streets, Sewers, Waterlines
"Our city suffers from
neglect. A city street sags. Another project was delayed for 6
years. I support proactive repair and upgrades of our streets,
sewers and waterlines. They are the arteries and mainframe that
keep Rocky River clean and flowing."
______________
Preserve Our Neighborhoods
Voter Approval
of Zoning Changes
"Redevelopment schemes by River
Government and special interest threatens stability and beauty of
our neighborhoods. I support ‘voter approved zoning changes’
to preserve our
neighborhoods and homes ."
____________________
Rocky
River’s
Future Leaders
I support
preparing our young adults for the future today.
Tomorrow they lead
and protect
our American civil rights.
They are our
last, best hope.

FRED I. SOKOL'S
THOUGHTS ON
!
" WHEN I
RUN FOR
MAYOR OF ROCKY RIVER, OHIO
FOR 2005
THIS IS WHAT I WILL
SUPPORT
TO MAKE
ROCKY RIVER BETTER
FOR US AND FOR
OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN ."
______________
1.
Provide
residents ‘City Subsidized’ low-interest home improvement loans.
2.
Immediately "jump-start" Rocky River's
economy and create jobs. Eliminate Rocky River city
income tax to effectively increase citizen's incomes.
3.
Have healthier and safer citizens and
safety forces.
4.
Shrink Rocky River Government’s wasteful
spending, size and power. Protect our citizen
liberties, privacy and private property.
5.
Make Rocky River city government
"directly accountable" to citizens for their ‘shoot at
the hip’ way of governing. Have Town Hall Meetings.
6.
Beautify Rocky River and our city parks.
Establish more green space. Upgrade Rocky River's
infrastructure of streets, sewers and waterlines.
